There is currently a water issue at Windsor Elementary and the school does not have functioning toilets or bathroom sinks. Technicians and Maintenance staff are on site and have determined that the situation is not able to be fixed today. In order to provide students with access to toileting facilities, all Windsor Elementary students and their teachers will be transported to Georgie Tyler Middle School beginning at 1:30.
If you would like to pick up your child before they are moved to the middle school, you will need to be at Windsor Elementary before 1:30.
If you plan to pick up your child at the end of the day, you will need to pick them up at Georgie Tyler.
The kitchen's water system was not affected and all students have been fed.
We apologize for this inconvenience and we know it is unfortunate to have this occur, especially on the first day of school. Teachers have done a fabulous job of welcoming your child back to school and they will continue to keep them focused throughout the end of the day.
We do not anticipate any issues with the water for tomorrow.
Once again, all students from Windsor Elementary will be transported to Georgie Tyler Middle at 1:30. Parents who wish to pick them up will need to stop by Windsor Elementary before 1:30. Otherwise, they will need to pick up their child from Georgie Tyler Middle through the end of the day. This includes students who participate in the YMCA after school program.
