The School Board of Isle of Wight County will hold a Special Called Meeting on Monday, August 3, 2020, at 9:00am in the Cafeteria of Westside Elementary School, 800 West Main Street, Smithfield, VA 23430.
The School Board intends to take a vote to rescind the vote made at the July 30, 2020 School Board meeting regarding the adopted school reopening plan. Specifically, the previously adopted plan calls for the reopening of elementary and middle schools with parent choice of either 100 percent virtual for the semester or an AB hybrid model, and for the reopening of the high school with parent choice of either 100 percent virtual for the semester or in a total remote environment for nine weeks before revisiting in-person options at the end of the nine weeks.
Guests should enter through the front door of the building and face coverings are required. The meeting will be streamed live on the IWCS Facebook page and YouTube channel.
