M. B. Kahn Construction Company and Heartland Construction will complete the first phase of grading in record time by replacing the traditional process of surveying and staking with GPS technology. The GPS system provides specific information to the equipment operator on how much they will need to cut or fill in relation to their position on the field. The process will save hundreds of man-hours while also reducing fuel costs. As part of the site preparation, crews are creating a retention pond, which, along with silt fences, will help control run-off from the property. The companies expect to begin laying the foundation for the school around February 15, as long as the weather cooperates. The new, two-story facility will be over 100,000 square feet and house students in grades Prekindergarten through fourth grade. The project is slated for completion in the spring of 2023.
