The nomination for Ms. Walker stated the following:
Ms. Walker is vital to the daily routines at our school. She upholds the routines and expectations while still managing to create meaningful relationships with all students and coworkers. She can often be seen covering classes, helping out in the front office, or any other multitude of tasks around the building. Also, she is always quick to offer a helping hand without being asked. She truly is valued!! The way she connects with the students is amazing. She is often seen de-escalating a situation before it gets too big. She also has a knack for creating an environment where the students feel safe. She connects with all students in our building which is refreshing to see. Students tend to gravitate to her for a listening ear, advice, or just to feel loved in the moment. Ms. Walker is most definitely an unsung hero in our building. She works endlessly and without complaint. She never expects a thanks or recognition which makes her the perfect candidate for the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty recognition!!!! Thank you for letting me brag on an amazing employee and coworker!! We love you, Ms. Walker.—Jennifer Hartman, teacher, GTMS
