She is a graduate of Tidewater Community College, Old Dominion University and the University of Virginia. Outland served in Southampton County for 3 years as a classroom teacher and in Suffolk Public Schools as an elementary school classroom teacher, district science lead teacher, elementary assistant principal and elementary principal for a total of 28 years. She is currently the principal of Creekside Elementary and was recently named 2023 Elementary Principal of the Year in Suffolk Public Schools. She is proud of her work in building relationships, ensuring academic success, and fostering a positive school climate through family engagement. Outland is a resident of Carrsville where she enjoys spending time with her husband and their adult children and grandchildren. Outland looks forward to building on the connections that make Carrsville Elementary school an integral part of the Carrsville community.
