Four IWCS schools are participating in the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) “Paint the Plow” program. In conjunction with Isle of Wight County, students from Smithfield High School, Smithfield Middle School, Windsor High School, and Georgie Tyler Middle School are showcasing the talents and creativity of their students by painting the blade of a snow plow. The plows will be used this winter throughout the county during inclement weather. All four snowplows will be featured in the Smithfield Christmas Parade and the Windsor Christmas Parade. Parade organizers have created a judging category this year for Best Plow. In addition, Isle of Wight County will also have online voting set up for the public to select a People’s Choice award for Best Plow out of the four schools.
