IWCS Fleet Services Participates in Electrical Training Sessions

Technicians in the Fleet Services Department for Isle of Wight County Schools (IWCS) recently completed electrical training sessions to enhance their ability to keep buses on the road. In June, technicians participated in an Essential Electrical Training Course. The course emphasizes electrical systems at a high level and serves as a foundation to improve troubleshooting electrical issues in vehicles. In July, technicians participated in Electronic Diagnostic Training, utilizing diagnostic software to identify failures in modules and test vehicle communication systems. Both trainings allowed Fleet Services to improve the technical skills of staff, ultimately decreasing down-time for the division’s fleet. "This is the most training, and the best training, I have received in 29 years with Isle of Wight County Schools," said Michael Edwards, IWCS Fleet Services technician. The training was conducted in cooperation with Sonny Merryman Incorporated.
