IWCS Culinary Arts students participated in the Virginia ProStart Invitational (VPSI) held at Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Conference Center in Harrisonburg, VA over the weekend. The group made quite an impression during their first-ever appearance at the event. Aidan Kerr took First Place in the competition's napkin folding event. The team of Aidan (SHS), Christina Kea-Towns (WHS), Julia Leete (SHS), Charlene Sanderson (WHS), and Alexandria Washburn (SHS) brought home the First Place Prize in the Culinary division and earned their ticket to the National ProStart Invitational held in Baltimore, MD on May 2-May 4. The students, along with instructors Chef Nic Hagen and Chef Scott Horne, will represent the entire state of Virginia in the national competition.
