A "Hands-On" Superintendent

Our employees have gifts and talents that cover a wide variety of areas. For example, Dr. Theo Cramer, Superintendent of Isle of Wight County Schools, used to work in construction. As crews are renovating part of an older building into a new Central Office, Dr. Cramer grabbed his gear and did some drywall work in the new space. He also demonstrates an important message: going to college and learning a trade do not have to be mutually exclusive.

IWCS Fine Arts & Gifted Expo

The talents of students across Isle of Wight County Schools were on display at Georgie Tyler Middle School. Fine arts students, including those in music and theater, showcased their gifts for their families and members of the community. Students in the gifted and talented program presented their in-depth process of learning to attendees. They explained their creations and how they solved a problem or addressed a concern.

School Resource Officers in IWCS: Building Relationships and Making a Difference

Isle of Wight County Schools is very fortunate to have a School Resource Officer assigned to each of our schools. These sworn police officers are stationed on campus everyday to ready to "respond, defend, detect, and deter" in order to keep all of our students and staff safe. Through their constant presence in the schools, the SROs are able to build meaningful, cooperative relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community to ensure a positive and secure learning and working environment.
